NieR : Recreation

NieR: Recreation is a fan project originally created as a test for me to try and replicate the original game as closely as possible to test myself in Unity which then spiralled into trying to build upon the mini-game and make a bunch of new content for it for the people who enjoyed it as much as I did.

This was originally started I think in 2020 but finally, I decided to polish what was there and release it for people to try if they were interested. There is a lot of cut content that I might re-add/expand upon in the future if the interest in the project is there, such as a short campaign, infinite roguelike mode, and a bunch of "Remix" levels which differ from the Classic levels by adding new enemy types and such. I didn't want to interfere with the original gameplay which is why they were planned to be a separate mode.

In the current build, there is :

• 4 Classic Levels each with unique maps that try to change things up to keep each level feeling Unique.
• A Level Editor which is pretty barebones but you can still create anything you want inside of it, you can save one level at a time but you can always backup the file if you want to keep it.
• An open-world styled Main Menu which was cut down a lot due to fewer features.
• Options to change the colors of the projectiles.
• Photo mode (Press TAB), features a whole host of options to allow you to create whatever kind of imagery you like.
• Infinite Mode which was originally designed to be a rogue-like addition but is currently just a basic mode that expands as you progress and resets on death.
• Secrets left scattered around for anyone interested in exploring
